steamboat cum badminton

31/01/09:

Needless to say, food is vital for us to live. But it’s much more than just something edible. We eat all the time, at parties, gatherings, supper, in between meals, even at funerals we eat. But I guess as our standard of living rises, we can live to eat rather than the other way round. More importantly, food brings people together :)

The first time I heard that we (my family) were going to have steamboat when I was little, I imagined that there would be a wooden ship on the dining table with steam as the sea, and we would pick food from the ship’s compartments. Later I was somewhat disappointed to see that the steamboat wasn’t what I imagined :(

I’m beginning to like steamboat. The first time I had with church ppl was when Enci organised it at the back of the church. The second time was during the Cameron Highland trip and recently there was the one in the church’s hall organised by Jia Hua. Having dinner tgt is so enjoyable :)

01/02/09:

After church we went to play badminton near Shien’s house, but she was too tired so didn’t join us :( Bekah joined us later in her new bicycle, which lanfang almost crashed when she tried riding it. I must say lf’s badminton skills have improved since she came back from Beijing. I wonder if it’s good or bad, to laugh and be amused by the slightest things. For instance when the shuttle cock hit a tree. I laughed because they were laughing at sth irrelevant. Haha. But I should learn to be more cheerful. Meihui and Lanfang were talking when lf said sth that struck me: 我是不会心情不好的。That’s sth I must learn, 要靠主喜乐，无论顺境或逆境。

This really happened, believe it or not:

Lanfang: 我的水壶呢？ (Looking around for it while we pack up)
Eugene and Meihui: talking to one another.
Lanfang: starts laughing by herself.
Meihui: looks at lanfang and joins in the laughter.
Eug: 什么事？
Meihui: 她kiap着她的水壶(under her arm) 问她的水壶在哪里。
Lanfang:我还差一点要打给施恩问我是不是放在她家里。
