five

Is the number of days I slept on the floor/bench and not my bed, the times I didn’t touch the bible :( the days I spent with a group of crazy people and had fun, haha. From mon to sat last week, I went for the engine orientation and was completely exhausted by the time it ended. I went to bed immediately after bathing, then waking up to realize it was 6.45pm already, so I decided to rest at home instead of going to tuan qi. Then on sun a few people said that I looked bad; my lips were a bit swollen, one eye was smaller than the other and I looked dazed. Haha. I didn’t even realize myself. Very happy to sleep on my comfy bed and pillow again :)

I was told later in the camp that I was very lucky to be able participate in the camp. The reason being, I only signed up the day before the start; even though the registration was already closed a week before and there was a long list of people who signed up earlier during matriculation day but got rejected :( phew!

Honestly, I went to the camp with a heavy heart. I even thought of going leaving on the first day. Thankfully all these changed during the course of the camp, and I had an enjoyable time, to my surprise. I’m actually looking forward to future outings!

There was something I haven’t got used to though. The girls from my batch of 1988 are my seniors, and those from the 1990 are my peers, some of them didn’t take O levels too. Hmm. But I think spending time with those younger made me relish my youthful JC days again :) Oh yes, though guys have already ORD-ed, we still find it hard to remember that we’re not in NS, haha.

Before the camp, I thought of how I would introduce myself if they asked. “Hi my name is Shi Yan, and I’m a Christian.” Would I say that? In the end I found out that they already knew each other as our group was made up of two groups combined together in a previous engine camp which I didn’t go, obviously. During meals, I would secretly look around to see if anyone said grace. On the last day however, I discovered that two people were Christians :) It was so random how we found out.

I still can’t believe that school is starting tomorrow. This break has to end after all. The good thing is the first two weeks only consists of lectures and excludes tutorials and labs :) which means more time to get my brain accustomed to functioning, haha.

National day was spent moving everything from church 大堂。It’s quite fun actually, haha. It’s the last time 大堂 will look this way. Still feeling tired from camp, I went home to take a nap of 20min before going to have dinner with Jiahua uncle and a few others. The funny thing is the three times I’ve been to Grandma’s kitchen at united square, they were with church people and at three different occasions I sat at the same table. Then today was spend playing badminton, which made me realize again that although my mind thinks otherwise, my body is getting older :(

No more slacking! Sigh.

Below is a video of something we did called the Algorithm march and freeze mob :)
